Tips To Plan A Halloween Party For Your Kids And Their Friends

Looking to start a fun and spooky tradition this year? How about throwing a Halloween party for your kids and their friends! I know what you are thinking - you do not have time to plan a Halloween party, right? Wrong. Honestly, you will find it very simple and enjoyable! Here are some helpful hints to help you plan age appropriate parties without breaking the bank.

1. Start Early - Begin making your Halloween party plans at the end of September. It is never to early to begin planning!

2. Consider Two Parties - If you have a large age gap between your kids like I do you may want to consider having two parties. We have one for our four year old and his friends and a separate party for our twelve year old.

3. Make The Party Age Appropriate - You would never show JAWS to a bunch of four year olds, right? Consider things like decorating cookies and doing Halloween crafts for younger kids. For older kids you can get a little more scary by showing spooky movies and having pizza.

4. Invitations - You can make your own invitations or buy them from the store. Either way people will be excited to come to your party so I suppose this one is up to you. However, you will want to mail or hand out your invitations 2 weeks before your party to give your guests time to check their calendars.

5. Costumes - Younger kids will love to get dressed up to go to a party! From a SWAT costume to a princess costume...the key is to let them decide which they would like to wear to the party.

6. Goodie Bags - Smaller kids will love to have goodie bags filled with candy and other small trinkets. Things like roasted pumpkin seeds and candy corn can also make a cute addition to any goodie bag!

7. Food - Younger kids will love spooky decorated cookies and cupcakes. You can even consider making sandwiches and using cookie cutters to make different shapes. Older kids love the treated, but it's better to buy a pizza and called it a day. Older children also like the gross decisions such as edible skeleton bones candy, gummy rats and other foods that we wind adults.

8. Decoration - Do you consider the decorations, the age of the guests. They would never all blood and guts for a party of young children! to help use webs and streamers to match your party!

After the party is over, make sure your children thank their guestsfor coming and do not forget to hand out the goodie bags! Your party is sure to be a hit.
